FDNY | GREATER NEW YORK CITY 2016 - PRESENT
Many of the FDNY EMS stations and Engine Companies across the greater New York City area are out of date with old fixtures, cracked walls, and ill-fitting interiors. Because of this, RRA paired up with Cameron Engineering Associates to investigate these fire houses and redesign many interiors and some exteriors to better accommodate the FDNY and help them establish standards for new projects.
Projects that I have been involved in include EMS 39, a total overhaul of the station including facade design, a new green roof, detailing, and construction administration. EC 224, a historic station located in Brooklyn that is redesigning all floors. EMS 4 down in Pier 36 that is getting a face lift with a redesigned stair tower, an elevated generator, and a new mezzanine over the FEMA critical action elevation. EC 266, another historic facility in the Rockaways is also getting an interior renovation for all the floors.
For each of these projects my role was as the acting Job Captain, dealing with the prime, CEA, for the FDNY with approval from the PDC. Work has been done both in AutoCAD and Revit, primarily Revit for the later projects. More FDNY projects are on their way.
